One week ago my foot broke. Sometimes small mistakes have big consequences. In two seconds half my summer will be in a cast using crutches to get around.
In my true fashion, I am trying to see the bright side: my one leg will be stellar strong, my arms will be buff, and in a couple of weeks I should be able to start biking again and maybe swim. If I can get on my bike soon then I won’t go completely insane AND it won’t destroy my race in August.
Another silver lining is that this has me itching to train. I was just settling into my new life and was starting to be active again. My broken foot has really put a damper on my plans to lose some weight and get active. However, using crutches to go up and down the stairs is quite the workout! Some abs and some band work on my leg with the broken foot attached will help me out. I’m hopeful that I’ll still be able to do the triathlon in August.
For the next few weeks I am going to document how I can subsist on a vegan diet made up completely of easy-to-make foods. It will be simply delicious.
